Water

• Water only after the pot has mostly dried at root level.
• Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry before watering
• Water thoroughly, then allow excess to drain
• Overwatering → root rot (most common issue)
• Underwatering → drooping, not sudden death
• If you’re unsure whether to water, wait.  Frydek tolerates waiting better than wet roots.

Light

• Bright, indirect light.
• Avoid direct sunlight — it can burn leaves
• Low light causes slow growth and weaker stems
• If the plant is upright and stable, do not move it.

Temperature & Humidity

• Ideal temperature: 65–80°F (18–27°C)
• Prefers moderate to high humidity, but stability matters more than numbers
• Increase ambient humidity by: grouping plants and maintaining consistent room conditions.
• Avoid frequent misting — it does not replace true humidity.

Soil

• Use a well-draining aroid mix.
• Drainage is essential.

Pruning & Maintenance

• Remove fully yellow leaves only
• Do not over-prune
• Rotate occasionally, not weekly
• Uneven growth is normal. Cosmetic damage is not an emergency.

Fertilizer

• Feed during active growth only (spring/summer)

• Do not fertilize stressed or declining plants
• Fertilizer supports growth — it does not fix problems.
